Remembrance Day

For Haggonfields Primary and the local area Remembrance Day is of huge importance. We truly felt it was crucial for our children of today to understand the reasons why we remember and the power of wearing a poppy to mark the occasion. We were lucky enough to have David Scott, Tony Eaton (Worksop Mayor) and Alan Henry into school, all ex-military, to come into Assembly to chat to the children about their experiences and why Remembrance is so important. All the children then had the opportunity to spend time outside with David, Tony and Alan exploring military activities. To mark the 100th year of the Poppy we had all children, staff and parents/carers outside to form the number 100 for our two minute silence and this truly was a powerful moment in the schools history. Most definitely a moment we shall never, ever forget!
