    Fri 08 Oct 2021 Mrs S Henry

Today marked Mental Health Awareness, a topic near to my heart and something I believe should be highlighted more within school and our children. Today we recognised the day by wearing Yellow 💛 and had a photo booth to help raise awareness. Next week we hope to do some focused activities with the children on mindfulness and emotions and how it is ok to not be ok.

    Thu 07 Oct 2021 Mrs S Henry

We could not be more proud of our Girls Football Team tonight, taking on Redlands and St John's Primary Schools. They fought valiantly and did us proud. There were some strong players but they managed to work as a team and on the whole, keep the opposing goals at bay. A huge well done to Miss Butler and Miss Pasasseo for training and coaching the team and here is the to the next match!

  • Tuck Shop!

    Mon 04 Oct 2021 Mrs S Henry

Our Tuck Shop has been welcomed by all children, big and small on our afternoon Break Time slot. The children have a huge variety to choose from be it Watermelon slices, dried fruit, cereal bars or fresh fruit there is something for everyone. All the snacks are healthy to ensure children are gaining some added vitamins and minerals in the afternoon. Our Playground Leaders have been in charge of the Tuck Shop and using their Mathematical skills to calculate how much to charge children and ensuring to give the correct change back. Miss Butler, our Y5/6 teacher and Head of PSHE will be monitoring the children's behaviour in class after Afternoon Break to see if the additional snack in the day is having an impact on the children.

  • World Mental Health Awareness

    Sat 02 Oct 2021 Mrs S Henry

Mental Health is something very close to my heart ❤ and something I believe we should all be aware of from a young age. My mum suffered and still suffers with Mental Health and growing up it was not something we spoke freely about, it was always brushed under the carpet. I am keen for the children to have a growing awareness of their feelings and emotions and know it's ok to not feel ok.

On Friday 8th October we will be promoting Mental Health with the help of Alexina Graham, someone else who is super passionate about the subject, losing her Uncle to suicide earlier this year. Alexina will be joining us for the day to complete some activities with the children as well as introducing a charity she works with Beder and the work they do around Mental Health.

  • Aspiration Assemblies - Alexina Graham

    Fri 01 Oct 2021 Mrs S Henry

What a privilege it has been to welcome the incredible and stunning Alexina Graham into school today! Alexina started with a whole school assembly, taking the children through her life at school and how staff had told her she would never reach her dream of being a model. However, Alexina ignored the criticism and focused on her goal and became one of the UKs most successful fashion models!

Alexina then spent some quality time with each of the classes and went through some Cat Walk moves and posing, safe to say the kids really enjoyed it. Many felt truly inspired to achieve some of their goals for the future too.
