  • Virtual Take Five Week 2

    Thu 30 Apr 2020 Mrs H-S

Last week, we launched the first set of 'Virtual Take Five' sessions. We have been getting lots of positive feedback from our families about the week one breathing practices!

The week two sessions are now available on our website. 'Virtual Take Five' can be found in the 'Children' menu. Click on link for this week's poster to access the three video links of the different practices. There will be a basic practice, a simple practice and a movement/imagination practice.

Your class teacher will send the new password on Class Dojo today. Each password is valid for 10 days.

  • Free School Meal Voucher Scheme

    Fri 24 Apr 2020 Mrs H-S

We have had a number of enquiries about the Edenred Free School Meals Vouchers scheme so I would just like to clarify how the scheme works.

School meals are free for ALL pupils in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 under the government Universal Infant FREE School Meals initiative. They are entitled to free school meals regardless of the household income. However, some pupils in school receive benefit-related Free School Meals.

Due to the current Coronavirus crisis and school closures, the government has set up a national voucher scheme to issue vouchers for those children entitled to benefit-related Free School Meals.

Schools can now provide every eligible child with a weekly shopping voucher worth £15 to spend at supermarkets while schools are closed due to Coronavirus. The scheme will allow schools to provide vouchers to families via email. The vouchers are sent to parents or carers via the Edenred portal.

Please note: these vouchers are only available to those who receive means-tested Free School Meals. They are not for children who receive Universal FREE School Meals.

Children may be eligible for free school meals if their parents receive the following benefits: Universal Credit (provided the annual net earned income does not exceed £7,400 per year or £616.37 per month), Income based Employment and Support Allowance and Income based Job Seekers Allowance.

If you think you may be eligible for Free School Meals based on your income, you can apply via the Nottinghamshire County Council Citizen's Portal.  If your claim for Free School Meals is successful, the school will be sent confirmation of eligibility and the start/end date for entitlement. Once the school receives this official confirmation, we will enter your details on the Edenred to generate your voucher.

  • Covid-19 #ThankOurChildren Certificate

    Thu 23 Apr 2020 Mrs H-S

The Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Sir John Peace, has launched a major initiative to thank every child and young person in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, following on from HM The Queen’s recent broadcast to the nation.

This week, our class teachers have sent every child a certificate of achievement. We want to recognise the determination, resilience and motivation of children and young people, which is helping the National effort in succeeding together during the Coronavirus outbreak.

  • Virtual Take Five Sessions

    Mon 20 Apr 2020 Mrs H-S

Last term we introduced the Take Five programme in school. I'm sure you will agree that it is a positive experience for the children to join in with Take Five practices to help them feel mentally strong and to cultivate their 'I can handle it' mindset.

This week has seen the launch of 'Virtual Take Five'. Each week you can access three virtual Take Five sessions via the video links. Your class teacher will send the password on Class Dojo each week. Each password is valid for 10 days.

'Virtual Take Five' can be found in the 'Children' menu of our website. Click on link to each week's poster to access the three video links of the different practices. There will be a basic practice, a simple practice and a movement/imagination practice.

  • Goodbye To Miss Blakey!

    Fri 17 Apr 2020 Mrs H-S
We would like to wish Miss Blakey well as she leaves us at the end of the Spring Term. Miss Blakey is a fabulous teacher and we will be sorry to see her go. It is sad that we can't hold the traditional 'goodbye' assembly due to the current school closures. We wish her well in her next adventure. Miss Tokell, who is already a member of our teaching team, will be the teacher of Delphinus Class for the Summer Term.
